​Introducing The Center of Dentistry, a newly opened dental clinic based in Lutherville-Timonium, MD.  We spoke with the owner and the dentist himself, Dr. Michael Rosen and we got to know more about him and his newly opened practice.  Dr. Rosen and his team got their official start in April 2018, and he is no beginner when it comes to providing quality oral health care services. He graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2013 and  completed a one-year advanced training residency at a VA Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. He further honed his dental skills when he worked as an associate dentist for 4 years before starting up his own practice a year ago.

Dr. Rosen and his team at The Center of Dentistry pride themselves with the most modern equipment and the latest technologies to provide high-quality dental care. Dr. Rosen wanted to create an environment where the patient would feel comfortable and well informed of the procedures to be done. He and his team, consisting currently of two front desk assistants , two dental hygienists, and one dental assistant, exert a lot of effort in giving high-quality dental care, without compromising the patient’s experience. The Center of Dentistry offers a wide range of oral and dental procedures. These range from simple dental cleaning and preventative check-ups to more complex restorative procedures such as dental implants root canals, and cosmetic procedures.  What sets this new practice apart from others is their modern approach in giving dental services. Dr. Rosen states that, ‘’We’re a brand new modern dental office that has all the latest equipment and technology to really enhance the patient’s experience. I pride myself in taking the time to really explain to patients what the problem is, what we’re recommending to fix the problem, and the cost of the procedure. I like to explain that all upfront and be completely honest and transparent with the patients.” Dr. Rosen also goes the length in working with patients that have limited or no  insurance coverage. Dr. Rosen accepts many dental insurance plans, all PPO plans, and they have an in-house discount plan for patients that don’t have insurance. “We try to be as flexible as possible so they can have the procedure they need or achieve the aesthetics that they are looking for.”

With the goal of opening his own practice finally reached, Dr. Rosen believes that it doesn’t just end there. He wants to continue growing and taking on new patients. He is working toward having more interaction with the community in a productive and meaningful way. Community outreach through events like the Towson Spring Festival is one example. They also use social media in a purposeful way such as giving donations to specific charities or initiatives such as Breast Cancer Support based on followers' engagement with their social media posts.

​According to Dr. Rosen, part of his motivation to grow is not only for personal success but also to give back to the community. He is  a volunteer faculty member at the dental school part-time and a volunteer for the Maryland State Dental Association. He is the chair of the new dentist committee.  “I’m giving back and helping people who were like me, working to make it through dental school. I help students get into dental school, help them find jobs, and give them guidance toward success in the industry.”  He enjoys being involved in different kinds of charity and fundraisers. “So the more success I have and the more growth I’m able to obtain, the more I am able to give back.’’ For sure, this will not only pave way for others to become successful and happy but motivate them to do the same as well.

Like most goals, there will always be hurdles along the way. For example there are numerous dentists in the area, and it can be daunting to make a selection on who to see.  Dr. Rosen describes his practice as ‘’a more younger, energetic and modern office.” He aims to become more established in the community, where people will recommend him to their friends and family due to their positive experiences.  “I would say we’re definitely gaining traction and we’re getting good feedback from patients that are then recommending friends and family.” Dr. Rosen is grateful for the clinic team he has to support him with this growth. Visiting the dentist can be mentally challenging, but Dr. Rosen has designed his office for a “homey feel” so his patients can feel relaxed and as comfortable as possible.
